Practically vs. Purity 2012

Politico reports on polling that shows Romney beating Obama in New Hampshire.  This comes after other polls show Romney winning in Florida.

Now comes the question:  Will GOP primary voters choose the man who can win the support of independents and disillusioned Democrats or will they start a purity inquisition and vault Michele Bachmann or the “convenience conservative” Donald Trump to the nomination?

To Republican voters I ask you this:

1)  Would you rather make your point and send up a Tea Party candidate to lose against Obama ensuring another 4 years of what you hate like you did in Nevada, Delaware, New York and Colorado last year?

2)  Do you understand that Gov. Romney was forced to compromise with a Democrat super majority legislature who threatened to override his veto and push a single payer program?  It’s tough to govern Massachusetts with a Tea Party ideology.

I end with this:  If you nominate Trump, Palin, or Bachmann and their ilk Obama will get re-elected.  Period.  No discussion.

To Tea Party leaders:  If Trump runs as an independent spurn him.  Tell your followers to ignore his Perot like spoiling of the 2012 election.  Don’t turn this into 1992 or 1996…the stakes are much much higher this time.

Shame on the GOP?  No Democrats, SHAME ON YOU for putting the interests of your POLITICAL BENEFACTORS over the FINANCIAL HEALTH OF YOUR STATE!!!!

Public employee unions and collecting bargaining in the public sector has been a FAILURE.  It has sucked each state dry and is rife with kickbacks and political corruption.

Left Wing Weasel Pulls “Prank” Call

The AP is giving some schmuck running a liberal blog in upstate New York his 15 minutes of fame.

This clown pretended to be one of the evil demonic Koch Brothers the Left is always warning about and to everyone’s shock and horror Governor Walker candidly admitted…..well he admitted the same stuff he’s been saying in public for the past two weeks.

First of all, what a slimy gotcha strategy. This is right out of the left wing playbook of chaos and deception championed by Saul Alinksy.


Second of all….what did Walker say that was so bad exactly? It sounded to me like the same stuff he’s been saying to the press and talk radio programs. Because he joked about a baseball bat after the liberal baited him?


If anything we see that when his advisors recommend thug tactics he decides to ignore the advice because he knows he can win the argument on principle.


Why is the AP running an expose on the Koch brothers anyway? Why doesn’t the AP give us more information on the money Soros spends on electing leftists? Why don’t we hear about how CWA, NEA, AFL-CIO, ASCME, and SEIU bought and paid for control of the Democratic Party and the White House?

If I held my breath for the answer I’d be dead in the next ten minutes.

Switch this union thug out with a Tea Party activist and it’d be the leading story on MSNBC.  This video won’t be making the nightly rounds but is it really any surprise that a union hack would assault a person who disagrees with them?   I recall similiar incidents at Townhall meetings in 2009. Civility went out the window the moment  the GOP called for spending control.

“I’m proud to be here with people who understand that it’s more than just sending an email to get you going. Every once and awhile you need to get out on the streets and get a little bloody when necessary,” Rep. Mike Capuano (D-Ma.) at a Boston rally in support of Wisconsin Unions.

“I’m saying if you strike a match and you put your finger in it, you’re likely to get burned.” -Richard Trumka, President of the AFL-CIO back in 1993 responding to an incident in which his union members shot and killed a non-union worker and beat other workers who came to the victim’s aid.

The Shocking Ignorance of Jimmy Carter

President Obama is regularly haranged as the new Jimmy Carter.  Carter of course is well known as a failed one term president who barely ecked out a victory in 1976 and got demolished in 1980 by none other than Ronald Reagan (the conservative anti-Obama that our current president wishes to emulate in style more than substance).

Paul Kengor digs up some gems from the Carter presidency that we should find not only shocking and chilling but all too familiar these days.  Sure it’s amusing to hear somebody claim that the Soviets wanted to be our “friends” and had equal rights for women (not too hard to accomplish when nobody had rights at all), but when it’s coming from the president of the United States in 1978 it’s no laughing matter.  Compare that to 2011 when we have another president who is accommodating and conciliatory to those who would stab us in the back given the chance.

Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer wrote a terrific piece exposing the “fuzzy math” (to quote our 43rd president) behind the current president’s 2012 budget.  In the article Krauthammer shows the mathematical acrobatics that Obama undertakes to make massive increases in spending since 2008 look like cuts, and how the GOP will be forced to undertake the real cuts, and then the political pain of those cuts.

Freedom! Democracy! Unions?!

Well it’s happened.  The rabble rousers are launching a “Day of Rage” right out of the 1960s in Madison, Wisconsin.  Porked up public employees are marching on the capitol with their useful idiot college supporters and demanding “Freedom!  Democracy!  Unions!”

The new Republican majority in the state is forcing a vote that would face the financial realities of public employee pension and what do the elected Wisconsin Democrats do?  Why they run off to end quorum of course!  How democratic!

I remind the public employee unions, the Wisconsin Democratic Party, and other miscreants, rabble rousers, and wannabe anarchists that Wisconsin has freedom, has democracy, and has overfed unions.  Why just three months ago the people of Wisconsin used their freedom and democracy to elect legislators and a governor who would roll back fiscal abuses and union benefits that threaten to bankrupt the state.

Perhaps quorum rules need to begin to be looked over across the country, this happened a few years ago in Texas when the Democrats didn’t like their chances in a roll call vote there either.

One thing is for sure.  The average American is sick of public employees getting six figure pensions and benefits for life while they’re lucky to pull in $35,000 a year, pay their own retirements, and see their states go under.
